West Ham have finally started working on the transfer market this summer, after agreeing a £35m deal for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez, who is expected to undergo a medical in London in next 24 hours.
The Hammer is also anticipating Man United’s answer to its offer to pay almost £30 million for each of midfielder McTominay and defender Maguire.
Two Manchester United players are particularly appealing to coach David Moyes. West Ham immediately increased the price by £10m but was instantly rejected after their initial offer of £20m per individual was refused.
Man United is ready to raise cash this week by selling Fred and Donny van de Beek in addition to selling Maguire and McTominay in order to sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina. Van de Beek is being contacted by Sociedad, and Fred is being pursued by Fulham and Galatasaray.
Rasmus Hojlund ($64 million from Atalanta), goalkeeper Andre Onana ($45 million from Inter Milan), and midfielder Mason Mount ($55 million from Chelsea) were three new players the Red Devils acquired during the summer 2023 transfer window.
MU’s transfer budget is almost exhausted and to bring in more rookies, they are forced to sell less players. Maguire, McTominay, Fred and Van de Beek are among the top winners.
