The announcement mirrored a classic scene from Lord of the Rings

Cazorla, 38, is a passionate Oviedo fan – but left to join Villarreal before ever playing a first team game for them.

Labelled a “magician” by fans – Cazorla’s announcement fittingly mirrored a classic Lord of the Rings scene.

Cazorla played the part of Gandalf, sitting in a wizard’s hat atop a cart covered in Arsenal and Villarreal jerseys.

The midfielder significantly reduced his salary to play for his favorite side.

While playing for Al Sadd, Cazorla reportedly made over £1.3 million annually.

It is now asserted that he agreed to sign with Oviedo for the league minimum of £132,500.

The well-liked star returned to Villarreal after leaving Arsenal, where he was given a warm welcome.

On the El Madrigal pitch, Cazorla emerged from a glass tube filled with smoke.

After making a comeback, he spent two seasons playing for Villarreal before joining Xavi and his former Spain teammate at Al Sadd.

A position in his backroom staff was reportedly given to the former La Roja star by Xavi at Barcelona.

But he has decided to keep playing for Oviedo.
