Mason Mount, an England international and former Chelsea player, was Manchester United’s first summer signing, however he has not fared well at Old Trafford.
Manchester United will be without Mason Mount until after the international break, with the England midfielder suffering an injury against Tottenham.
The former Chelsea man joined United early in the transfer window, and started each of the first two league games under Erik ten Hag this term. However, he will miss the upcoming game against Nottingham Forest and is also expected to sit out the trip to Arsenal after picking up a problem last time out.
” Mason Mount is set to miss Saturday’s game against Nottingham Forest due to an injury picked up in last weekend’s encounter with Tottenham Hotspur,” United’s statement reads. “The small complaint is expected to keep Mount out until the international break next month.
“The England midfielder has started both of our Premier League games so far this season after making his competitive debut for the club in last week’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford,” the club added. United sit 12th after two games, with three points and a -1 goal difference.
It’s another blow for Mount, who missed a number of games for previous club Chelsea last term. He was sidelined by a pelvic problem in the second half of last season, requiring surgery for the issue, and United haven’t specified the nature of his latest injury.
“He did well,” manager Ten Hag said of Mount following the Spurs game, but before the injury was confirmed. “I think we dominated Spurs totally the first half, especially in the midfield area, and that was in and out of possession. Mason played an important part in that.
