DONE DEAL: Kieran Tierney farewelled Arsenal and join Real Sociedad on season-long loan

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Sociedad are on the verge of finalising an agreement with Arsenal to secure Kieran Tierney’s services for a season-long loan.

He confirmed: “Kieran Tierney to Real Sociedad, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with Arsenal on loan deal — no buy option clause

“Tierney has accepted, medical being scheduled after clubs exchange all documents.

“Salary will be covered until June.”

Besides, According to The Athletic, the deal does not include an option to buy but involves the La Liga outfit covering the Scotland international’s full wages and paying a loan fee to the Gunners.

Even though the contract hasn’t been finalized, Tierney might take the weekend to visit Spain and get a checkup if everything goes according to plan. Tierney’s desired destination was Real Sociedad since he wanted to play regularly for the first squad and in the Champions League.

Notably, Tierney has yet to play in the Premier League this year; his most recent start came on May 14 against Brighton, which resulted in a 3-0 loss. His lone appearance so far this year came in the FA Community Shield victory over Manchester City, when he was substituted for an injured Jurrein Timber.

Manager Mikel Arteta has insisted this month that Tierney was in his plans for the future but the Scot does now appear set to move on.

Pending the finalisation of the deal and successful medical evaluation, Tierney could soon be seen in Real Sociedad’s colours after the international break when the club make the trip to the Santiago Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid.
