Neville has called for United to make two new signings this week
On Friday at 11 p.m., the Premier League transfer window is scheduled to close.
Neville claims that United needs to get a midfielder and a left back before then.
He blasted the Red Devils for being inflexible following their victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Erik ten Hag’s squad recovered a two-goal deficit to triumph 3-2 at Old Trafford.
Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, he explained: “You always feel under Ten Hag, they’re not fluid at all at this stage of the season. They’re always scruffy the first few weeks.
“You think about the Wolves game where Wolves were really unlucky not to get the victory. Nottingham Forest will feel really hard done by too. They also get beat at Tottenham.”
As for the clash with Arsenal, he added: “They’ve got a match against Arsenal, which will be really interesting because Arsenal slipped up.
“United, it isn’t quite going for them yet. It isn’t quite happening… but they’ve put six points on the board. I think that somehow, that’s quite important.
“Two tough away games with Tottenham and now Arsenal. If they hadn’t won their home games they’d be under pressure.”
Neville went on to suggest Ten Hag makes a pair of signings this week, ahead of Friday’s deadline.
“I think they have to try to do something in the transfer market this week,” he continued. “They need to get players out.
“Some clubs get players out really well but United don’t tend to do that.
“They’ve got players in better this summer. There’s no doubt they want another player or two. A left-back and central midfield player. I think they need that or else they’ll be put under real pressure.”

Erik ten Hag has been urged to sign a left-back and midfielder
United has recently been linked to several candidates at both positions.
Long-term aim Ryan Gravenberch is once more anticipated to depart Bayern Munich.
Former Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is one of the left-backs who is rumored to be on Ten Hag’s radar.
