Andre Onana, a goalkeeper for Manchester United, abandoned his commitment to join the Cameroon squad selected by coach Rigobert Song in the middle of his international career despite being eliminated from the 2022 World Cup.

Onana has been included in the 24-man Cameroon squad for their September 12th Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi. To receive tickets to the final round beginning on January 13, 2024 in Ivory Coast, Cameroon simply needs to avoid losing.
