CITY OF ANGELES – Tickets to this weekend’s Los Angeles Football Club vs. Inter Miami match, which will include the services of Lionel Messi, will not come cheap.
Tickets for Sunday’s game at BMO Stadium are now on sale for as low as $834 (from a high of $978 on Tuesday). However, the most expensive tickets cost around $17,102 each.
It’s important to remember that ticket pricing might change depending on where you shop. Tickets on StubHub started at roughly $580 at the time of writing, while the cheapest ones on Vivid Seats were valued at $532. Options on SeatGeek and Ticketmaster started at $600 as well.
Electronic market TickPick even went so far as to say that the game’s ticket prices were the highest in the history of Major League Soccer.
Ticket costs have climbed by 527% since Messi started playing in the league.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner scored the game-winning goal in Inter Miami’s 2-1 Leagues Cup opening triumph against Cruz Azul of Mexico on July 21 with a free kick.
Messi has undoubtedly catapulted American soccer onto a worldwide platform, following in the footsteps of some of the game’s greatest stars who have moved to the U.S. near the conclusion of their careers, including Pelé, Franz Beckenbauer, Thierry Henry, and Beckham himself.
He has won ten La Liga crowns and four Champions Leagues. Only Cristiano Ronaldo (140 goals) has scored more in the world’s best club competition than his 129 goals.
