LAFC Sends Defender Mamadou Fall on Loan to La Liga’s FC Barcelona


Mamadou Fall, a defender for LAFC, has been loaned to FC Barcelona of Spain’s La Liga, the club confirmed. There will be an option to buy at the conclusion of the original loan term in June 2024, subject registration and his international transfer certificate (ITC) being received.

We hope that he continues to thrive in Barcelona.

After spending a year on loan at Villareal CF of La Liga, Fall came back to on July 7. Fall played for Villareal B for a total of 1,988 minutes over the course of a year and scored three times. Mamadou also played twice for Villareal’s first team, once in the Copa del Rey against St. Amalian on November 12, 2022, and once in La Liga against Girona, a game Villareal won 1-0.

On June 4, 2021, Fall signed with LAFC at the young age of 18. Over the course of two and a half seasons, the Senegalese international played 36 games (30 starts) for the Black and Gold. Across all competitions, Fall made 42 appearances, scoring six times and dishing out one assist.

While on loan at LAFC’s USL affiliate club the Las Vegas Lights in 2021, Fall made eight appearances and logged 634 minutes of action.  

In 2019, Fall will represent Senegal in the U17 World Cup squad.

Mamadou Fall, a defender for LAFC, has been loaned to FC Barcelona of La Liga on an initial loan basis until June 2024 with an option to buy. Pending registration and the issuance of an International Transfer Certificate (ITC), Fall will join Barcelona.
