According to reports, Al-Ittihad has made a proposal of £215 million to acquire Mohamed Salah, a forward for Liverpool.
There have been rumors for weeks that the Egyptian, who is under contract until June 2025, would be moving to the Saudi Pro League.
Last week, Al-Ittihad showed serious interest by making a final-day £150 million offer in the English transfer market. Liverpool rejected down the bid but have been keeping an eye on the Saudi transfer market, which remains open until Thursday.
To make one final push to recruit Salah this summer, Al-Ittihad dispatched representatives to London over the weekend. The Saudi Arabian club, according to The Sun, has submitted a new record offer of up to £215 million.
According to the source, Salah has been given a £2.45m a week contract by Al-Ittihad in order to go to the Saudi Pro League. Additional incentives, such as a big cut of jersey sales and a £55,000 victory bonus, are proposed by Al-Ittihad as part of the proposed deal.
At least three big Saudi firms have offered Salah £6 million for ambassadorial duties in exchange for publicizing their products. Al-Ittihad are allegedly still interested in signing the 31-year-old despite not hearing back from him about their last offer until Thursday.
Although Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has tried to quell rumors of Mohamed Salah leaving, he has not ruled out the possibility that the attacker may leave for Saudi Arabia next summer. Dominik Szoboszlai, a midfielder for Liverpool, has said that a player has expressed a desire to remain with the club.
Salah and Szoboszlai both scored for Liverpool in their 3-0 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday, helping the Reds keep their perfect record intact. Salah has played 309 times for Liverpool in all competitions since he joined the team in 2017, and he has scored 188 goals and sent out 81 assists.
