In the African Cup of Nations qualification stages, Andre Onana of Manchester United’s goalkeeping squad celebrated his comeback from retirement with Cameroon by maintaining a clean sheet during a 3-0 victory against Burundi.

Onana, who had a fight with coach Rigobert Song during the Qatar 2022 World Cup, will play again for Cameroon, it was just announced a week ago.
Many people were astonished by the 27-year-old’s decision, and it has led some of us to worry that he would miss some of the season due to the AFCON.
Onana played the full game on Tuesday in Garoua, earning his 35th senior cap and 13th shutout on the international stage.
Vincent Aboubakar of Besiktas, Christopher Wood of Rennes, and Bryan Mbuemo of Brentford all scored one goal each. With this result, Cameroon guaranteed itself a spot in the AFCON for the next year. As a result, if United goes further in the competition, they might miss their new starting goalie for at least four games in 2019.
The AFCON will be held in the Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11.Between those dates, United has Premier League games against Tottenham, Wolves, West Ham, and Aston Villa. Also planned for the weekends of January 6-7 and January 27-28 are two FA Cup matches.
It’s not ideal when it’s our first choice goaltender.
