Following Manchester United’s loss to Bayern Munich, Erik ten Hag spoke out strongly in an interview.
After Andre Onana’s gaffe in Manchester United’s 4-3 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich, manager Erik ten Hag made a special effort to assign blame. Ten Hag has argued that Marcus Rashford and Christian Eriksen could have done more to block Leroy Sane’s initial shot.
The Red Devils goalkeeper wanted an interview to discuss the error following the game.
By the time Sane’s weak attempt from just beyond the box mysteriously snuck past Onana and into the bottom corner, United had already taken a significant lead in the match.
The Cameroonian has had a rocky start to life in red, and in a post-match interview that was specifically sought, he accepted full responsibility.
Ten Hag, agitated, said to TNT Sports,
“It’s good that he’s doing that but it’s about the team.”
“Mistakes are made, but you must recover as a team.
“As a team, we have to have the confidence that we can always recover.
Even after our missteps from earlier, we demonstrated that tonight.

Ten Hag added, “It’s not just about one mistake because before that, it was too easy for the player to take the shot,” in reference to Onana’s error in particular. Eriksen and Rashford won’t enjoy reading the comment.
Sane easily maneuvered around Rashford from Bayern’s right flank, and the winger let the former Manchester City player enter on his left foot of choice. Eriksen attempted to block the shot with a halfhearted leg dangle, but Onana’s error and the deft one-two with Harry Kane were unavoidably successful.
Ten Hag continued, “When you score three goals at Bayern, you have to take a point. “A lot of things are working against us at the moment, but we must create our own luck. In our last three games, we’ve also faced excellent opposition.
“Winning every game is crucial. It’s enormous. Nobody is going to make our luck for us; we must make it on our own. We hold it; no one else does.
After the game, Onana made the decision to take responsibility for his actions, confessing in a brutally honest interview that his time with the Red Devils had not started out as he had hoped.

According to United legend Paul Scholes, the former Inter Milan goalkeeper has the moral fortitude to move past the mistake.
The 48-year-old said of the player, “He’s amazing with his feet, but he makes mistakes and he has to get over it.He might worry about it for 24 hours, but once you start training, the memory is gone, so you can’t afford to dwell on it for too long. Although he has already played at prestigious clubs, he will be in the spotlight.
