While Ten Hag acknowledged that injuries were a major factor in his decision to select Mejbri, the 20-year-old was unmistakably motivated to make a mark.

Mejbri was reportedly wanted on loan by Sevilla, but ten Hag’s last-minute intervention prevented him from leaving Manchester.
