Along with the three players already mentioned, Sofyan Amrabat, a rookie, also displayed excellent play. Everyone was shocked when Ten Hag replaced Sergio Reguilon at left back with the Moroccan sensation.
The shift was evident when Victor Lindelof came onto the field in the second half. Amrabat resumed playing in the midfield’s central position. Amrabat performed flawlessly despite being unable to use his innate talents.
According to statistics, Amrabat successfully performed 100% of tackle situations and 100% duels won throughout his 60 minutes on the field. The 27-year-old player accurately completed 78 out of 81 passes, a very impressive success rate: 96%.
Speaking after the match, the Fiorentina midfielder said: “This is my dream since I was a child, Man United. It’s great to play here, the stadium is full of people.
“I play in every position I can to help the team, even as a goalkeeper! I go out to fight for this badge on my chest.
“Today it’s left back but I play freely. Everything is great. I always like to have the ball. Of course I’m not a natural left back but I try to give the team more options. Today everything was fine.
“Of course I am a midfielder and I prefer to play as a midfielder. But I will play wherever the team needs me.”
Amrabat’s presence brings a fresh breeze to Man United’s playing style. The Old Trafford team will have a rematch with Palace at home this weekend in the Premier League.
