Hollywood action hero Jason Statham recently offered his little Malibu, California beach house for close to $20 million. Without a doubt, he wants a “fast and furious” sale.
The rustic, four-bedroom villa with a Pacific front view was bought by Statham, 52, who is best known for playing the tough man Deckard Shaw in the Fast and Furious movie series, ten years ago.
He reportedly spent $10.6 million on the beachfront property in 2009. He stands to make a big profit if the asking price of $19.95 million is even somewhat met. This amounts to an increase in value of around $1 million on a yearly basis.
The house’s stunning setting is much to blame for its appeal. “The Black House” is located on a private beach towards the end of a peninsula, hidden from prying eyes behind the gated entrances of Malibu’s exclusive Colony neighborhood.
A-list celebrities like Tom Hanks, Sting, Robert Redford, Edward Norton, Paul Reiser, and Larry Hagman have all lived in The Colony.
The 3,900 square foot main residence features three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It has cedar shingles on the outside that have been painted black, giving it a menacing aspect. The backyard houses a detached guest cottage with a one-bedroom home over a two-car garage.
Making the most of its most important asset—the spectacular views of the pounding Pacific Ocean from almost every window—the freshly remodeled house maximizes its most advantageous feature. Viewing another California sunset or surfers riding the waves at the neighboring Surfrider beach is excellent from the room’s spacious decks.
