property Global has discovered that NBA shooting guard Victor Oladipo sold his modern Miami Beach property on Tuesday for $9 million in anticipation of his forthcoming comeback to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The seven-bedroom home is located on the artificial Hibiscus Island, a guard-gated community in Biscayne Bay accessible only through the MacArthur Causeway; its listing agent, Liz Hogan of Compass, says the transaction price makes it the highest non-waterfront sale on the enclave.
She claimed that the transaction proved there was a “strong and growing demand” for high-end housing in the region. The influx of wealthy investors and builders is driving up home prices and encouraging additional construction in the area.
The roughly 6,500 square foot glass-covered property is located on a huge corner lot and features an open floor plan, modern furnishings, and a larger footprint than normal residences on the island.
The description describes the home as having a spa-like master bathroom and two walk-in closets in addition to high ceilings, a feature staircase, a gaming room, a gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-line equipment, a living area with a statement wood wall, and a gourmet kitchen.
Oladipo spent $50,000 remodeling the guest house into a recording studio, according to Hogan. The estate also features an outdoor kitchen, a huge pool, and lots of room for socializing, lounging, and dining al fresco.
Oladipo, who is now 31, played for the Miami Heat for two seasons before being moved to the Oklahoma City Thunder in July.
According to PropertyShark, he purchased the ultra-modern property in the spring of 2021 for $7.75 million and has lived there ever since. Hogan claims that his career had nothing to do with the transaction.
Hibiscus Island provides its inhabitants with a number of facilities in addition to its enviable location, such as a waterfront park, tennis courts, basketball courts, playgrounds, and a police officer who is on duty around the clock at the front gate.
