‘BAD TO WORSE’: Fans mocked Onana after he continued to make technique errors that caused Man Utd concede to Brentford

ANDRE ONANA’s debut season for Manchester United continues to go from bad to worse.

The Cameroon international was brought in by Erik ten Hag to replace long-time stopper David de Gea, who left Old Trafford in the summer.

But the keeper has endured a nightmare start to life at the Theatre of Dreams, making several gaffes.

His poor form continued in the Red Devils’ Premier League clash with Brentford on Saturday.

The former Ajax stopper allowed a tame shot from Mathias Jensen to squeeze underneath him in the 26th minute to give the Bees a surprised lead.

Sharing with the Premier League Productions program, former goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel commented: “In my opinion, Onana only moved his body, but did not rush to cover. Onana made the same mistake in the match against Bayern Munich, he just moved his body instead of rushing out towards the ball.”

“I don’t know why Onana made mistakes in the technique of catching the ball. I’m not him. The error lies in the technique of catching low shots. I think the big reason comes from pressure. I talked with him after the Bayern Munich match, after the Galatasaray encounter. Onana is concerned about his own mistakes.”

“You have to analyze your mistakes after the match. You have to be ready for the next match otherwise the same scenario will repeat. Onana makes the whole team uncomfortable. They won’t trust him anymore.

Onana’s blushes were spared when Scott McTominay came off the bench to score twice as Man Utd came from 1-0 down to win 2-1.

Onana’s mistake was the second he’s made in as many matches, the first coming in United’s 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray on Tuesday.

He carelessly gave away the ball to Dries Mertens in the 77th minute, which forced Casemiro to take the Belgium international out in the penalty box and receive a straight red.

His blushes, however, were spared when Mauro Icardi dragged the resulting penalty wide of his right-hand post.
