Rihanna is drawing inspiration for her newest collection from her billion-dollar fashion brand from her experiences as a mother.
Although Rihanna won’t be releasing any new music anytime soon, she is adding a new maternity line to her Savage x Fenty clothing line, which is appropriate given that she recently welcomed her second kid with ASAP Rocky in August.
The style queen revealed the happy news along with a picture of herself in a dark colored bralette, cradling her oldest son RZA in her arms. “Not your mother’s maternity bras… “Designed by Rihanna, approved by RZA the baby,” the singer wrote as the image’s description.
Three different designs of bralettes are apparently part of the range, along with an oversized t-shirt that reads, “Make more babies.” The bras are intended to facilitate breastfeeding and are made for expectant and nursing women.
Regarding the collection, Rihanna told Vogue, “The new maternity capsule is about bringing that confidence and comfort to moms at every stage of their journeys.” “I would like to remind people that being a parent does not have to mean giving up on sexiness or feeling good.”
Although Rihanna first gained notoriety as a musician, she has recently immersed herself in the fashion industry with the introduction of Save x Fenty in 2018 (she also owns the beauty brand Fenty, which has achieved comparable levels of popularity).
Though a mother of two now, RiRi did resign as CEO before to the birth of her youngest son Riot, but she doesn’t seem to be slowing down the designs or modeling for her fashion business. “Over the last five years, it’s been amazing to witness our vision for Savage X Fenty have such a profound impact on the industry,” Rihanna said in a statement.
The beauty entrepreneur goes on, “This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer.” “We are thrilled to have Hillary Super join our team as our new CEO. She is a capable leader who is committed to growing the company to new heights.” Hillary Super, who had previously worked at Anthropologie Group, took up the position in June.
Apart from the new collection, Rihanna still has ambitions for Savage x Fenty because the company is getting ready to open a number of retail locations across the United States (much like Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand is also doing at the moment).
Given that Savage x Fenty has only been in operation for a few years, Rihanna’s brand achieved an astounding milestone in 2022 when it was valued at $1 billion.
