And Maddison captioned the post with: “Still asking for a replay”
.
The story refers to how Jurgen Klopp said he thought Tottenham vs Liverpool should be replayed after Luis Diaz had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside after a VAR error.
The refereeing body, the PGMOL, were forced to apologise to Liverpool after “significant human errors” saw Luis Diaz’s first-half goal wrongly disallowed for offside. After that apology, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who also had Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota sent off, called for his side to be given a replay.
Klopp said ahead of last week’s Europa League clash with Union Saint-Gilloise: “I say this not as manager of Liverpool but as a football person – I think the only outcome should be a replay. Probably will not happen.”
Maddison has starred for Ange Postecoglou’s side during the opening weeks of the Premier League season, that see’s Spurs top the league standings. Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool side are currently three points behind the North London club.
