Sylvester Stallone’s Equestrian Retreat Finds a New Owner: Rocker John Fogerty Acquires the L.A. Property for $17.2 Million

Now, music star John Fogerty and action star Sylvester Stallone can say they have something in common.

Both of them have lived in an equestrian house in Los Angeles’s guard-gated Hidden Hills neighborhood. Records with PropertyShark show that the on-screen tough guy sold the mansion to the ex-Creedence Clearwater Revival leader earlier this month for $17.2 million.

Stallone, who is 77, and Fogerty, who is 78, both hid behind aliases in the deal by setting up limited liability companies and trusts, respectively.

Stallone did not have ownership of the home for very long before he decided to sell it. He acquired the property in February 2022 for $18.15 million and began marketing it in December of same year for $22.5 million.

Located at the dead end of a cul-de-sac behind locked gates, this over 2-acre property “offers the best of both New England charm with California relaxed informality,” as stated in the listing held by Joanie Louis of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.

The main home has five bedrooms and is filled with natural light from the high windows and ceiling beams. According to the description, the home has a wine cellar with a tasting room, a video room, a garden room, and a total area of about 9,000 square feet.

In addition to the main house, the grounds also have a detached guesthouse, swimming pool, spa, four-car garage, and outdoor kitchen.

Over the past few years, Stallone has made a lot of changes to his property portfolio. According to reports, he sold his Los Angeles property to pop artist Adele for $58 million, gave up his Tuscan-style villa in La Quinta, California, and purchased a $35 million compound in Palm Beach, Florida.

Meanwhile, Fogerty is well-known for leading the band Creedence Clearwater Revival, which he and his brother started in the 1960s. Hits including “Bad Moon Rising,” “Fortunate Son,” and “Proud Mary” have been recorded by the band.

He put his California mansion up for sale earlier this year for about $20 million; it was a Mediterranean style and included soundproof recording facilities. The house is currently off the market.

There was no quick response from a Stallone spokesperson, and no way to get in touch with Fogerty for his thoughts.
