Rihanna’s bold move: Inside the ups and downs of her modern Hollywood Hills mansion

There is one less thing for everyone’s favorite Barbados-born lingerie and beauty magnate, Grammy-winning singing superstar, new mom, and aspiring real estate magnate to do. The house Rihanna owned in the Hollywood Hills was on and off the market for several years, and it was also for rent during that time.

The Mediterranean-style home was first listed for just under $7.5 million in December 2018, and it was also available for rent at a steep $35,000 per month. It was eventually sold off-market to an unknown buyer for just under $6.6 million, which is about $250,000 less than what the seller paid for it five years ago, in the summer of 2017.

The modern building with a terracotta roof was built on-spec and finished in 2015 on a lot that was almost half an acre and was high above the busy Sunset Strip. It is hidden by walls and lush plants, and it sits on a plot of land that is almost half an acre in size. Inside, there are six bedrooms and ten bathrooms spread out over about 7,100 square feet of living space with high ceilings, arched doors, and a mix of hardwood and tile floors.

The house has steel-framed doors and windows that let in lots of natural light and offer views of the city and mountains. The indoor and outdoor spaces flow together seamlessly. The house also has a movie theater, a billiards room, and a detached two-car garage with a guesthouse on the upper level with a gym and bathroom.

A traditional dining room with a wood-beam ceiling, a living room with a tiled fireplace and a chandelier hanging from a ceiling medallion, and a vestibule with a beautiful staircase and golden chandeliers are all part of the house. The home also has a cozy family room and a sleek gourmet kitchen with high-end tools and a black marble L-shaped island with seating.

There are four bedrooms on the second floor, each with its own bathroom. The master suite is designed like a penthouse and has a fireplace, a separate sitting area, a private patio, and a luxurious bathroom with two sinks and a soaking tub. On the lower level, there is a second guest room. The grassy backyard has a beautiful infinity pool and Jacuzzi, as well as a barbecue and several places to relax and have fun outside.

In addition to the house she just sold in the Hollywood Hills, the 34-year-old singer of “Umbrella” has a huge number of other homes all over Los Angeles. She owns both the $13 million estate in Beverly Hills and the $10 million house next door. Her main home will always be a condo in The Century’s tower that is worth many millions of dollars.
