The UNESCO World Heritage Site Cité de Carcassonne is a medieval castle and walled city in the south of France. It is located in Carcassonne. Because it is on the Aude plain, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, it has been a major trade hub since the Neolithic period.

During our trip to Portugal to look for a house, Sarah and I stopped here. This gave me another chance to use my brand-new [easyazon_link identifier=”B01LY287P9″ locale=”US” tag=”journimage-20″]DJI Mavic drone[/easyazon_link]. I could even fly the drone from our hotel balcony, which was just outside of Carcassonne. Inside the city walls, there were some great restaurants, and it was a fun place to walk around, look around, and go on a short journey.
