There were times in the first half when England needed to move the ball more quickly, and Harry Maguire was made to seem at fault for his slow passing manner. With the first goal, Italy undoubtedly punished some shoddy defending, but Maguire also took control of the match and made some crucial stops.
He was successful in his duels and suited a physical fight with Scamacca. Drag his marker off and moved to the near post for the opening kick. This was a respectable performance from the center-back given the background noise.
