Manchester United have been handed a double ιnjury boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clаsh against Sheffield United, with Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon both training on Thursday.
Amrabat’s ability to compete this weekend was called into question when an ιnjury prevented him from playing for Morocco during the break.
Against Liberia on Tuesday night, the on-loan Fiorentina midfielder was conspicuously absent, with Al Ayam citing a minor ailment as the reason.
.
Amrabat, however, was able to practice with Man United on Thursday, indicating that he will be available for the match against the Blades on Saturday night.
Reguilon was also there, and it seemed like the Spaniard had recovered from a hamstring injury.
The team’s loaned Tottenham Hotspur defender has missed the last four games, but before the break, it was anticipated that he will play against Brentford.
Reguilon is now expected to take a timely return to the side on Saturday, with the Spaniard set to start at left-back due to the ongoing absences of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
Shaw is out until at least next month due to a muscular problem, while it is understood that Malacia underwent a knee operation over the summer, which will keep him out until the latter stages of the year.
Kobbie Mainoo was also found to have returned from ιnjury
Raphael Varane also trained on Thursday, with the Frenchman recovering from the minor problem which forced him to miss the Brentford clаsh before the international break.
.
However, Casemiro won’t be playing for Man United this weekend since the midfielder is still in Brazil getting treatment for a minor injury he sustained while representing his country.
Due to a ban, the 31-year-old is ineligible to play against Sheffield United and will be absent against Copenhagen in the Champions League the following week.
As a result, he might make his comeback in the Manchester derby against Manchester City at home on October 29, which comes before a match with Newcastle United in the EFL Cup.
Jadon Sancho is still absent as a result of his argument with head coach Erik ten Hag, while Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Amad Diallo are also still sidelined with injuries.
Scott McTominay’s stoppage-time brace against Brentford before the international break secured a huge three points for the Red Devils, and Casemiro’s absence could open the door for the Scot to start this weekend.
