Designs for a futuristic 55-meter “eco-explorer” built by the Italian company Dynamiq Yachts have been unveiled ahead of its formal debut at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The Global 550 superyacht was co-created by Dobroserdov Design and Vripack to be an environmentally friendly vessel capable of circumnavigating the globe. A boat powered by 625kw Volva Penta engines and equipped with 21,000 liters of fresh water storage for improved autonomy can go more than 5,000 nautical miles without refueling.
Every deck has a panoramic lounge so passengers can take in the scenery, and the top deck has a crow’s nest so they can have a bird’s eye perspective. There is also a spa for people who want to unwind after a day of adventuring and a commercially approved helipad for trips to the mainland.
ZROBIM architects made their first foray into the marine sector by working with the shipyard on the interior design. The style is inspired by “natural minimalism,” which makes extensive use of natural materials including American oak, wenge, and dark Shimo ash.
The studio claims that components of the interior were also inspired by nature’s wildness. Stones with texture, such as Arabescato Orobico Grigio and Spider green marbles, are claimed to seem like faraway mountain ranges, while lit washbasins made of Golden Queen onyx resemble a glacier.
With four stabilizer fins instead of two, ocean crossings are much more relaxing.
The estimated time to complete the Global 550 is 30 months from the time of contract signing, with an asking price of €27,900,000.
