On a different Sunday afternoon, Serena and Venus Williams are taking it easy in their newly decorated home office on Zoom. They are still in lockdown.

Serena says she wanted her first move without Venus to be an important one. The key to their success as brothers and artists working together is easy to see: “Be aware of your lane. Inside work is not my strong suit. It taught me to look at Venus.

.

Venus says she put Serena’s idea first, but that changed as the world was being made. Serena’s old-fashioned tastes didn’t go with her new life after she bought the 14,500-square-foot Spanish Mediterranean–style home.

Serena moved into the ultra-modern intracoastal home with her husband and child in July, after three years of repairs. “They will come if you build it.” All of them agree that Serena’s creativity, with V Starr’s help, led to the design.

Ohanian agreed with Serena’s hands-on approach, but he was in charge of their daughter’s room when she was three. Both parents say that Olympia’s pink castle bed with a slide and Josh Fradis’s one-of-a-kind chandelier are the best things about their home. Definitely fit for a princess.

Serena says, “Every night she goes down the slide while we freak out and think, Man, we shouldn’t have done that. Now she just wants to slide at bedtime.” It makes me happy when she’s happy.

Even though Serena insists on moderation everywhere, Olympia’s room is the most fancy. Along with warm woods and casual touches that go with Serena’s easygoing vibe, the sleek, clean lines and high-end features produced a unified visual story that embodies Serena’s new design style, which Haffey calls “livable luxury.” The client was very creative and gave examples of places she has stayed at all over the world.
