Ryan Gravenberch saved his blushes by converting the rebound
Nunez, 24, had already netted in the game as he scored the hosts’ third goal of the game before half time.
However, he had the chance to double his own tally in the 65th minute.
The striker was able to take the ball past a defender before rounding Guillaume Restes to give himself an open goal.
But it proved not to be for the Uruguayan as he Һit his shot against the post
Luckily for Nunez, Ryan Gravenberch managed to collect the ball and slot home Liverpool’s fourth goal of the night.
Fans could not believe the miss as they took to social media.
One fan commented: “Nunez giving strong Torres against United for Chelsea vibes here.”
A second wrote: “I’ve never seen a more chaotic player for Liverpool. He can do absolutely everything but then has moments like this. He is entertainment.”
A third said: “Nunez falling to the ground in gratitude that somebody finished after his diabolical shot off the post.”
However some joked that Nunez meant to Һit the post in order to assist his team-mate.
One tweeted: “Unselfish from Darwin.”
Another joked: “Unselfish from Darwin. Used the post to give Gravenberch the goal he deserves.”
Gravenberch was one of the best players on the field, so the goal is exactly what he earned.
Nunez’s stunning display against Royal Union Saint-Gilloise earlier in the season was not his first sҺocker in Europe.
Nunez did see the funny side of things of his miss
In the ninetieth minute, Mohamed Salah completed the score, moving Liverpool’s record to three victories out of three in the Europa League.
With a flawless record, the Reds lead Group E by five points, ahead of Toulouse and USG.
