CALILO RESORT, IOS  HOTEL REVIEW

POSITION

Calilo Resort is located on the island of Ios, not far from Santorini, and can only be reached by ferry as Ios does not have its own airport. However, the nearest international airport is in Santorini and the ferry trip to Ios only takes 45 – 1:15 hours – depending on whether you choose the express ferry or the cheaper and slower ferry. For this reason, a stay at Calilo can be easily combined with a few days on Santorini – but of course you can also choose another Greek island as the starting point of your trip. The ferry network in Greece is very well developed.

After we docked and got off the ferry, we were met by a private driver from Calilo. We took the mini bus from the port in the capital Chora to the mountains and to the other side of Ios. The drive to the resort takes around 30-40 minutes.

This secluded location makes Calilo ideal for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Far from the beach clubs and bars, which can mostly be found in the area around Chora. But don’t worry – if you decide you want to see more of Ios during your stay, Calilo provides shuttles. But you can find out more about this below!
