R&B singer-songwriter The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, made headlines this year when he spent millions on a mansion in Bel Air. The property is quite spacious, with more than 33,000 square feet of living space. Outside, there is a sports court, an infinity pool with a waterfall, and a dамatic split stairway extending from the upper patio to the grass, while the interior has a gym, theater, music studio, sauna, hammam, and indoor pool.
These buildings sit on a spacious 1.6-acre lot overlooking Bel Air Country Club. Madonna bought the old home of the “Blinding Lights” singer only a few months ago.
Before Rayni and Branden Williams of Beverly Hills Estates expressed interest in showing the property to The Weeknd, the previous owners, Dutch media tycoon Reinout Oerlemans and his wife, competitive cyclist Danielle Oerlemans, had no intention of selling. The Oerlemans were ultimately represented by the Williams team, and Tesfaye by Angel Salvador, another Beverly Hills Estates agent.
After purchasing the property in 2015 for $21.4 млн, the Oerlemans spent the next three years expanding it by 13,000 square feet and installing several of the aforementioned amenities. In addition, they updated the home’s look from early 2000s to the present day. The property is full of one-of-a-kind touches, such as leather belts used as drawer pulls in the kitchen, orange gloss paint on the living room walls, and muted wooden sunburst panels lining the walls of the office. The three-time Grammy Award winner’s future redecoration plans are still unknown.
