Sportsmail can confirm that Phil Foden of Manchester City has secured his future in the area by purchasing a new home for himself and his family, estimated to be valued at approximately £2 million.
Despite his rise to prominence as one of England’s greatest talents, the 18-year-old is determined to maintain the close-knit family dynamic. It is believed that his parents, Phil and Claire, were involved in the property selection process.
The family is not wealthy, but Foden’s success has made it possible for them to relocate from the modest Stockport suburb of Edgeley to the posh south Manchester neighborhood of Bramhall, where they can be near the independent school that City has put Foden through.
If the athlete has never lived away from home, does not drink, and has not yet learned to drive, the move probably won’t change anything.
On nights out, he pays with cash instead of credit cards, and it’s believed that he took out a sizable mortgage on the new home.
Foden is believed to have no desire at all for a loan move away from his hometown team in order to obtain more playing time, even though Jadon Sancho, 18, who is two months younger than him and recently left City for Borussia Dortmund, received an England senior call-up on Thursday.
