It’s hot and humid in Milan in the summer, and there are a lot more people there than in the spring. Anyway, Milan really comes to life when it comes to fun things to do in the summer, with events like the Festa del Naviglio (a party in the Navigili region), men’s spring/summer fashion week, and many summer shows in the Sforza castle.
If you’re going in the summer, bring a range of short-sleeved shirts, sandals with open toes, hats, sunscreen, and bug spray. For hot days when you want to get out of the city, you could plan day trips to places like Lake Maggiore, Lake Como, and Bernina pass. Milan in the fall
When autumn comes, Milan wakes up to beautiful, mild weather without the annoying bugs that come with the summer. When the leaves change color, there are lots of things to do in the city. Milan Fashion Week in the fall and winter may be one of the most important events in the city, but it’s not the only one.
If you like Formula One, you should definitely go to the Italian Grand Prix at the beginning of September. It takes place in Monza, a small city about 9 miles outside of Milan. On the other hand, food lovers will be amazed by all the delicious foods that are available when the days get cooler and the nights get longer. You don’t have to get ready for sub-zero weather just yet, but you should definitely wear layers because it will be cool outside and rain could happen at any time.
In the winter, Milan
A lot of people say that winter in Milan is cold and dull, but a lot of other people say that there is no better time to visit the city than in the middle of winter. You can have a great time exploring the city as it gets its yearly holiday makeover as long as you wear warm clothes. Winter is a great time to go shopping because popular shopping areas like Via Monte Napoleone and the Piazza Duomo are not as crowded. Just in time for the holidays, shops and public places are also usually decked out in a fun way. Because many ski areas are close to Milan, it’s also a great place to go skiing in the winter.
