Prior to its formal unveiling at the Monaco Yacht Show, the 55-meter “eco-explorer” plans from the Italian builder Dynamiq Yachts have been made public.
With the help of Dobroserdov Design and Vripack, the Global 550 superyacht was created to be a very efficient vessel capable of traversing the world. An all-aluminum yacht propelled by 625kw Volva Penta engines will have a range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles, thanks to its massive 21,000-liter fresh water tanks that enhance autonomy.
Every deck features a panoramic lounge, with the topmost offering a crow’s nest for the most sweeping views, so that guests may fully enjoy the surrounding environment. A spa is available for those who want to unwind after a day of exploring, and a commercially licensed helipad is available for shore excursions.
The interior was a joint effort between the shipyard and ZROBIM architects, who were making their first foray into the marine sector. The use of natural materials like American oak, wenge, and dark Shimo ash as design features is a nod to the “natural minimalism” movement that inspired this project.
The studio claims that wild places had an impact on several interior design components as well. Sinks made of lighted Golden Queen onyx are claimed to seem like glaciers, while those made of rough stones, including Arabescato Orobico Grigio and Spider Green marbles, are said to make mountains seem far away.
A more comfortable ocean journey is possible with four stabiliser fins instead of the usual two.
The Global 550 is listed at €27,900,000 and is scheduled to be built within 30 months after contract signing.
