The 40-foot flagship model in its displacement series, the Mazu 132 DS, has been presented by the Turkish shipyard Mazu Yachts.
The yacht features a strikingly masculine shape and an innovative hull design that allows full-length glass to dominate the structure. While Profjord is in charge of the ship’s naval architecture, Red Yacht Design is in charge of its external and interior design.
Flybridge outside area—”significantly larger than other yachts in its size category”—and panoramic owner’s terrace are the principal features of the model. As seen in the illustrations, the model’s four decks offer plenty of space for lounging, including a sun terrace with a plunge pool, L-shaped couch seating, a bar, and an outdoor dining table that can accommodate ten people. Separated from the main saloon by semi-opaque glass is a big beach club with lateral-opening extensions.
As a continuation of their long-term cooperation, Mazu and Volvo Penta have equipped the 132 DS with the IPS 40 propulsion system. The shipyard claims this results in “unparalleled manoeuvrability,” “improved fuel efficiency,” and “reduced emissions.”
Construction on the Mazu 132 DS is set to begin in 2024, when it has been developed in the engineering department. The maximum speed that the boat is predicted to reach is 16 mph.
Following last month’s launch of the 92 DS model—Mazu Yachts’ maiden venture into steel construction—the announcement follows.
