As Liverpool rallied to draw 1-1 against Manchester City, Trent Alexander-Arnold shined.

After 25 minutes of resistance from Liverpool, a series of blunders led to City’s first goal.

Nathan Ake took Alisson’s miscued clearing, past two red players, and set up Erling Haaland to score in the 27th minute.

Darwin Nunez twice tested Ederson after halftime as Liverpool looked for an equalizer.

City were also threatening, but Trent Alexander-Arnold scored Liverpool’s equalizer in the 80th minute by grabbing the ball on the edge of the box and shooting into the far corner.

The Reds held on for a draw in a fixture that has defined their Premier League seasons despite a shaky performance.

Got away with a huge mistake early on by passing to Phil Foden on the edge of the box, who could only manage a feeble shot. Another mistake allowed Ake to pass to Haaland for the goal. After fluffing a corner in the second half, the ball went into the net, but Chris Kavanagh called a soft foul on the Brazilian. Not his day.

TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD (RB): 8

Despite facing the electrifying Jeremy Doku, he persevered. He was very easily beat by Ake for the first goal, but he scored a great goal 10 minutes from time to equalize Liverpool.

JOEL MATIP (CB): 7

Sometimes struggled against City’s firepower, but made crucial interventions. A huge block prevents Bernardo Silva from scoring in injury time. Fouling Doku got him booked.

VIRGIL VAN DIJK (CB): 7

Well-defended and calm while delivering from the back.

A tough Liverpool defender who makes crucial challenges and plays out from the back.
