In a recent interview, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah admitted he has been “addicted” to a new pastime.
Since signing with Liverpool in 2017, Salah has been a global sensation, winning every trophy imaginable along the way. His impressive goal-scoring record of 198 in 322 games is proof of this.
This is hardly surprising, given that the star forward is a top-tier athlete who fully grasps Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s brilliant strategies.
Outside of football, the Egypt international has taken up a fun and intellectual pastime, so it’s clear he’s a huge strategy enthusiast.
According to the 31-year-old, he plays chess “literally every day” and has a deep enthusiasm for the game.
In his secret online gaming sessions, the ex-Roma star occasionally drops hints about his real identity in his moniker, leading other players to wonder who he is.
“I play chess, I am addicted to chess,” Salah told Sky Sports. Continually, without fail.
If you saw my name and a few digits, you might wonder, “Are you Mo Salah?”
“Yes,” I respond; “Yes, I am lying.” They still don’t believe me and accuse me of being dishonest.
While I may not be Magnus Carlsen, I am competent. Magnus is an unbeatable opponent.
With his brilliant strategy, Salah has beaten some of the best teams in the world over his six years with Liverpool.
Earlier today, at the Etihad Stadium, the ex-Fiorentina player got past Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City defenses.
Ten minutes before halftime, Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the equalizer off an assist from Salah, and the visitors were able to rescue a 1-1 draw.
