Liverpool FC and Converse have collaborated on two limited-edition capsule collections, the second of which drops this month.
Inspired by the rich history of Liverpool FC and the unique styles of modern soccer fans from across the globe, this new capsule collection blends the two.
The Fall Holiday 23 Liverpool FC x Converse collection was inspired by the colors, architecture, and typography of Liverpool FC.
The first limited-edition capsule collection was a reflection of the club’s devoted fan base. Anfield anthems and Liverpool FC supporters are lauded in the second line of the Liverpool FC x Converse collaboration, which also celebrates the club’s illustrious history and bright future.
In the linked campaign “Creating from the Ground Up,” Converse provided a forum for featured LFC fans to work with the company on the ad’s production, symbolizing the shift from ideation to implementation.
According to Steven Bramble, VP and general manager of Converse Western, “We are absolutely thrilled to announce the launch of the FH23 collection and campaign. It pays homage to the illustrious history of Liverpool FC while showcasing the incredible creativity of LFC fandom, continuing on the success story of the Liverpool FC x Converse partnership.”
“As a logical progression from ‘Creating from The Ground Up,’ featuring creative work by LFC fans in the campaign enables, celebrates, and supports creativity in all its forms.”
The second collection in cooperation with Converse is something we are very excited about,” stated Mike Cox, senior vice president of marketing at Liverpool FC. Working with the brand has given us the chance to provide our followers something new and exciting. There’s the added bonus of showcasing the individual skills of each of our fans, which is always appreciated.
Members of the men’s and women’s teams (Darwin Nunez, Missy Bo Kearns, and Taylor Hinds), together with multi-disciplinary creative Dredz, singer/songwriter Pixey, and artist Sterling Rose Kelly, are featured in the campaign. All of the participants are lifetime Liverpool supporters.
Members of Homotopia, a Liverpool-based LGBT+ arts and social justice group and a social and community impact partner of Converse, have collaborated with Sterling, Pixey, and Dredz to guide the creative direction of the campaign.
Converse will continue to support Young Homotopia’s Creative Skills project all the way until 2023. Kolade, Olivia Graham, Margie Houlston, Sian Bennett, and DJ Lauren Lo Sung are all Homotopia artists and supporters of LFC.
This innovative approach exemplifies the aim of the Liverpool FC x Converse partnership, which is to bring together supporters who are striving to build a football community that is more inclusive, creative, and diverse.
