Emotional Birthday Reunion: Luis Diaz’s Family Gathers in Liverpool to Celebrate Father’s Special Day

Sunday was an emotional 55th birthday for Luis Diaz’s father, as Liverpool flew his parents and extended family to Merseyside for the holiday season.

After the terrible incident involving the kidnapping of Luis Manuel Diaz and his wife Cilenis Marulanda in Colombia, the club has provided their No. 7 with all the necessary support.

After seeing his son play in Colombia’s 2-1 victory against Brazil in Barranquilla, he and his family took a flight to Liverpool.

The Diaz family will be spending Christmas on Merseyside, thanks to the club’s private jet. Diaz Sr. was a spectator at Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Man City.

The Liverpool winger’s father celebrated his 55th birthday the following day with a party at Diaz’s house.

The gathering, planned by Gera Ponce, Diaz’s wife, brought together Marulanda and Diaz Sr., as well as their children, including Jesus, Roller, and Anny, Diaz’s siblings.

Diaz Sr. took to Instagram to express his gratitude to God for granting him the opportunity to commemorate yet another year of life.

To my wife, children, and daughter-in-law—thank you for allowing me to enjoy this lovely day in such a way.

“May God bless you, because my love for you knows no bounds.”

The Diaz family’s length of stay in the UK is uncertain, but they will most certainly spend Christmas and the new year on Merseyside.

After Saturday’s stalemate at the Etihad, Jurgen Klopp addressed the club’s involvement in the safe return of Diaz Sr., his wife, and children.

The source informed Sky Sports that they had arrived, which would allow him to share additional moments.

The fact that they are all together and doing well makes me glad for the family. It was awesome how the club helped them out.

Everything about that situation was terrible; the only redeeming quality was the group’s excellent reaction.

It is great that they have finally arrived. Clearly, it’s a great combo for the holiday season and the whole family.
