Big Boi Extends an Invitation: Music Fans Welcomed to Experience the Iconic Dungeon Family House

Big Boi, a six-time Grammy-winning rapper, is trying something new—hosting on Airbnb—to celebrate Black Music Month and pay tribute to the significant impact of Atlanta’s music culture.

Later this month, history buffs will have a once in a lifetime chance to book a night at “The Dungeon” mansion, so called because of the basement studio where seminal albums like “Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik” were recorded.

It would be an understatement to say that Atlanta’s performers had an indisputable influence on hip-hop. One group that helped establish Atlanta as a mecca for top-tier musicians was The Dungeon Family, which included legendary artists like Outkast, Goodie Mob, and Organized Noize. The Dungeon Family’s revolutionary music has impacted people all over the world, but until recently, fans couldn’t visit the area where it was born.
