The 36-year-old Uruguayan international, who is currently a free agent, gave notice of his resignation from the team last week.
He went out in style on Sunday night, scoring the only goal in Gremio’s 1-0 victory over Vasco da Gama in his final home game.
Following the match, transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano verified the specifics of Suarez’s new contract with Inter Miami.
He tweeted: “Luis Suarez said goodbye to Gremio fans… and he’s now set to fix the final details of his contract to become the new Inter Miami player.

The forward was given a big send-off from both his team-mates and supporters on Sunday, in a sold-out stadium.
Suarez was joined on the pitch by his wife and children – sons Benjamin and Lauti and daughter Delfina.
The ex-Barca star still has one more game to play against Fluminense before he parts ways with the Brazilian side.
But Suarez hinted his professional career could be approaching its end.
He said: “I can feel pain, my body is speaking for me. I want to enjoy and then decide for myself after a long career.
“I need to rest, enjoy my family… then destiny will know where I’ll be in the future.”

The veteran scored 27 goals in 52 appearances during his time at Gremio.
After coming to Europe in 2007, Suarez had a spectacular career. He won the Dutch league once and scored 111 goals in 159 games with Ajax before joining Liverpool in 2010.
Then, at Anfield, he reached a new height in his career and emerged as one of the top scorers in European football.
In just 132 games, the forward scored 82 goals, and in 2014, he helped the Reds win the league for the first time in 24 years.
Then, during his six years at Barca, he went on to win everything, including four La Liga crowns, four Copa Del Rays, and a Champions League.
