Daniel Agger, a legendary player for Liverpool, has numerous tattoos, many of which have special meanings.

Agger’s love of tattoos was evident from the fact that he frequently displayed them when playing games.However, the former defender reached new heights in his artistic endeavors after quitting football in 2016 at the age of 31.Agger, who was by now a licensed tattoo artist, founded the international company Tattoodo.While on a school vacation to Paris, at the age of fifteen, Agger got his first tattoo.This ignited a passion and lifelong love affair with body art.The center back was seen tattooing a Brondby supporter in 2014, and he just posted a photo of himself inking a Liver Bird on a Liverpool supporter’s foot.In addition to receiving tattoos, he has been adding to his own unique and large collection.Here are a few of Agger’s most significant tattoos.
1. YNWA
Daniel Agger’s YNWA tattooThis one has to be the first.Arguably, this is Agger’s most well-known tattoo to date.The Danish native put a stop to all speculations when he inscribed the letters YNWA (You’ll Never Walk Alone) to his knuckles in the summer of 2012, despite being strongly linked to a multimillion-pound exit.
2. Liver Birds
Agger added to his iconic YNWA tattoo four years later when he added two Liver Birds to the same hand to represent his love of the club as well as the city.
3. Mom and Dad

An elaborate dagger is surrounded by flowers on both hearts.4. Pain is temporaryThis tattoo served as a reminder to him during his playing career that agony is only transitory after he was forced into an early retirement owing to injury issues and unbearable discomfort.He has ‘Pain is transient’ etched on his right ankle and ‘Victory is forever’ on the opposite Achilles tendons.
5. Necklace

One of Agger’s most prominent tattoos for many years was the large necklace on his chest.
Now surrounded by newer ink, the pendant is still visible and pays tribute to his two sons. The names and years of birth both feature inside the pendant as it reads ‘Jamie ’09 Mason ’12’.
6. I <3 U
Agger married partner Sofie in 2010.
On his left knuckles he has an eye symbol followed by a love heart symbol and the letter ‘U’.
On his wedding ring finger he has lightning bolts.
7. Denmark Double
Agger made 75 appearances for Danish national team and it is no surprise that he is adorned in the country’s red and white flag.
The Denmark flag features on his left shoulder as well as his right forearm.
8. Vikings

We know from his Danish flags that Agger is very patriotic. He also has several nods to his country’s Viking history.
There are several Vikings which feature on his body. The folk legend Holger Danske features prominently on Agger’s back. He is sat among the graves of famous Danish kings.
A trio of Vikings appear below the folk legend, they represent the famous proverb: “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”
Agger also has a large image of a Viking with wings at the top of his right arm.
9. 1984
Also on his back is the faded year 1984. On top of this the words ‘Mors Certa, Hora Incerta’ feature.
The ancient Latin proverb translates: “Death is certain, it’s hour is not.”
There are also two Chinese symbols – their meaning is unknown.

Throughout his career, Agger only played for Liverpool and Brondby.
The letters ‘VSTGN’ are a tribute to his childhood club, where he spent both his formative years and the last days of his playing career. They are placed on his leg above a skeleton motorcyclist and below a spider.

In addition to having a spider drawn on his thigh, Agger also has similar cobwebs that land on his right knee and an all-seeing eye over his left knee.
There are little dots and stars all over both legs.
