Jude Bellingham, who was recently named the greatest young men’s player, had a touching reunion with his father after receiving the Golden Boy 2023 title.
At an awards ceremony in Turin, Italy, the midfielder for Real Madrid and England was embraced by his dad after being chosen the individual accolade.
Although they are now living in separate nations, Jude and his younger brother Jobe’s supportive parents, Mark and Denise Bellingham, have been there for them every step of the way as they pursued football.
Jude moved to Real Madrid for £115 million from Borussia Dortmund, and Jobe went to Sunderland from Birmingham. Jude had previously played for Borussia Dortmund.
Denise and Jude moved to Madrid when their parents made the tough decision to separate, while Mark remained in England to back Jobe at Sunderland.
The internet went wild when it saw Bellingham and his dad sharing a sweet embrace while they were on vacation in Italy.
The 20-year-old has been the star of the show ever since he arrived in Madrid, shattering Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for most goals scored in a player’s first fifteen appearances for the Spanish giants with fifteen goals in all competitions.
On the other hand, several internet users made light of the situation by wondering how the parents chose one child to go to Spain and the other to stay in the northeast of England.
“Must have been an intense game of rock, paper, scissors to decide who lives in Madrid and who lives in Sunderland,” joked Lewis Steele, a Liverpool and Everton writer for Mail Sport.
‘One brother plays for the biggest club in the world, the other plays for Real Madrid.’ (Sunderland supporter’s online message)
‘Parents not seeing each other much so that their children can succeed at what they do.’ was another commenter’s point.
