With their stunning mountain vistas rising out of the water and their soft winter light, Norway’s remote Lofoten Islands provide for fantastic photo locations.
Tales of the North: Lofoten Islands, February 10–17 / Sold out | Daniel Kordan
The Lofoten Islands are located above the Arctic Circle in Northwest Norway. The islands include sandy beaches, rugged peaks, deep fjords, and adorable red fishermen homes, making them an excellent location for landscape photography.
Particularly in February, when everything appears lovely due to the gentle winter light.
Lofoten Islands Road Trip: Professional Traveler’s Guide to Winter Photography
I leased a car and spent ten days traveling the Lofoten Islands with my camera in order to capture some incredible images of this incredible area of Norway’s wilderness. I climbed through heavy snow, visited hidden beaches, and searched for the Northern Lights.
Lofoten’s wintertime makes for excellent photography because there is little sunshine and long sunrises and sunsets. It is only a treat to always see white, snow-capped hills and aurora borealis.
