Manchester United have been dumped out of the Champions League after a 1-0 defeat against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
With a goal in the 70th minute by Kingsley Coman, United was eliminated from both the Champions League and all of Europe.
The outcome has placed the Red Devils at the bottom of Group A.
Bayern held 60% of the ball whereas Erik ten Hag’s team only had 40% of it.
Out of five shots, United could only manage one on goal at Manuel Neuer’s goal. Bayern on the other hand registered 10 shots, with three of these being on target.
The English giants put together 409 passes with a success rate of 83%. The Bundesliga champions strung 605 passes with a pass accuracy of 87%.
United were better in the first half but as the game progressed in the second period, it was clear the players became more fatigued, lacked legs and ran out of ideas that could have maybe made a difference.
One of the team’s better performers was Sofyan Amrabat.

Unfortunately, this performance was not enough to undo a MU team that is playing poorly with many problems inside and out. To be able to maximize the 1996-born player’s strengths of intercepting and recovering the ball, the Old Trafford team’s midfield still needs a lot of creativity.
