On Sunday at 16.30 GMT, Liverpool will host Manchester United at Anfield in one of their biggest games of the season.
After overcoming a 2-1 deficit to win against Crystal Palace last weekend, the Reds are now atop the Premier League standings. Despite playing below par, Jurgen Klopp’s team persevered to win all three points.
They are now getting ready to play a United team that lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at home the previous weekend and was eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich.
Although Klopp will be trying to have players back to full fitness, Liverpool will be confident going into the match. Here is the most recent information on the Reds’ injuries prior to the game.

1. Alexis Mac Allister – cut
The midfield player was forced out against Sheffield United in the second half after taking a harsh challenge. Despite missing the victory over Palace, Mac Allister has stated he is making a lot of effort to recover. Possible rematch: Man Utd (H), Sunday, December 17.
2. Diogo Jota – muscle
The Portugal international was substituted after going down against Man City with nobody around him. Jota is once again running on the grass, which indicates that although he may be ahead of Liverpool’s expectations, more time will be needed. Possible time of return: late December.
3. Andy Robertson – shoulder
The left-back has acknowledged that he does not have a certain return date in mind. The designated date has been the new year. Possible comeback in January
4. Thiago Alcantara – hip
The Spaniard will not be able to play until the start of the new year. Since April, Thiago has not competed for Liverpool, and it will take him some time to regain his fitness until his problem is completely resolved. Possible comeback in January
5. Stefan Bajcetic – calf
Liverpool is still taking its time with the midfield player, who underwent adductor surgery in March of last year before developing a calf issue. Possible matchback: None
6. Joel Matip – knee
The centre-back went down with a knee injury against Fulham. It’s since been confirmed Matip has ruptured his ACL and could miss the rest of the season. Possible matchback: None
