The defender and his partner, Rike Nooitgedagt, were seen walking the streets with Balenciaga bags, a high-end Spanish fashion label.

As he enjoyed some much-needed downtime after a hectic six months at Liverpool, Van Dijk wore a casual navy t-shirt and shorts.

During the January transfer window, the 26-year-old became the most expensive defender in the world after joining Liverpool from Southampton for £75 million.

After moving to Anfield, Van Dijk was an integral part of Liverpool’s run to the Champions League final, where they were defeated by Real Madrid.

Due to his nation’s failure to qualify for Russia, the Dutchman has been granted an extended sabbatical. Many of his Liverpool teammates are currently in Russia.

While on vacation with his wife Ulla Sandrock in Ibiza, Jurgen Klopp—Van Dijk’s club manager—was seen smoking a cigarette.
