BLATANT CHEATING: LFC fans are angry after allowing Union SG first goal to stand – with fans insisting Mo Amoura was ‘offside’ before giving scoring in UEL clash

Union Saint-Gilloise’s opening goal against the Reds in Thursday’s Europa League match has infuriated Liverpool supporters, who argue that it was offside.

In their last group stage match of the second-tier European competition, Mohamed Amoura of the opposition gave the hosts the lead, putting Jurgen Klopp’s team behind.

Liverpool supporters aren’t thrilled because they think replays indicate the striker was offside. The goal was given as the Belgian team took the lead against the flow of play.

Amoura appeared to be offside in the build-up as he went through the middle of defenders Jarell Amorin Quansah and Ibrahima Konate before finishing past second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

The 23-year-old was put through on goal by a ball from Gustaf Nilsson, Amoura’s striking partner, however it appears from screenshots that he was ahead of Liverpool defender Quansah and Konate at the time of the pass.
