Liverpool’s big Premier League matchup against Manchester United this Sunday is likely to see the return of several key players.
For Thursday’s Europa League match against Union Saint-Gilloise, which had no impact on the rankings, Jurgen Klopp decided to start the club’s youngest-ever European eleven by keeping stars like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, and Alisson Becker at home.
For the Reds, Alisson Becker will play in goal as he attempts to achieve a clean sheet at home. The Liverpool defense will be centered by Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate as they attempt to contain the opponents for the whole ninety minutes.
Trent-Alexander Arnold will play right back while Kostas Tsimikas, who plays left back, is getting better.
For the defensive spots on the bench, Joe Gomez will provide cover.
Midfield
Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Curtis Jones will be Klopp’s main central midfielders as they want to dominate the opposition in the middle of the pitch. If they want to give Liverpool enough opportunities to win convincingly at Anfield, all three of them must move the ball well.
If needed, Harvey Elliot will start the second half of the game on the bench in order to give himself an opportunity to contribute.
Attack
As the left winger, Luis Diaz will try to draw attention, while on the right flank, Mohamed Salah will try to make the most of his pace.
Darwin Nunez will lead the upper attack for the Merseyside club. The majority of his team’s goal-scoring responsibility will fall on the shoulders of the Uruguayan international.
While he waits for an opportunity to make an impact in the closing third, Cody Gakpo will start on the bench.
