CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN is back in training for injury-hit Manchester United.
Eriksen was pictured at Carrington on Monday – the day after United fought for a 0-0 draw at Liverpool – which will be a welcome boost for a side struck by absences.
The midfielder, 31, has been sidelined with a knee issue picked up five weeks ago during the first half of the Red Devils’ 1-0 win against Luton.
Eriksen’s absence from the starting XI has coincided with creative struggles for the Red Devils, who have blown hot and cold this season.
Harry Maguire (groin), Mason Mount (calf) and Tyrell Malacia (knee) are the next in line to return to fitness.
Two who are still a little way away, per The Mail, are Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro.
The Argentine could be fit by the end of this month, while Casemiro is expected back in January.
Eriksen will hope to make the matchday squad for Saturday’s Old Trafford clash, joining Bruno Fernandes in being available for selection again. The Portuguese midfielder missed Sunday’s draw at Anfield due to suspension after picking up a fifth yellow card in the 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth.
Ten Hag started a midfield three of Sofyan Amrabat, Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay on Sunday, with the latter moving into the No.10 role. Casemiro and Mason Mount remain sidelined with their respective injuries.
