Liverpool star Van Dijk poses cheeky question to referee amid frustration with decision against Arsenal

In the second half of their match against Arsenal, referee Chris Kavanagh left the Reds defender perplexed.

Fans of FOOTIE are certain that during Liverpool’s match against Arsenal, Virgil van Dijk asked referee Chris Kavanagh if he had “been drinking”.

The Kop defender was not pleased with the referee’s call to give the Gunners a free kick in the fifty-second minute of the match at Anfield.

And when the call had gone against him, he seemed to ask Kavanagh whether he’d had a pre-Christmas drink.

The Dutchman appeared to ask the referee if he’d had a cheeky tipple after making a drinking gesture with his right hand.

“Van Dijk has just asked the referee if he’s been drinking?” a football fan commented.

“Van Dijk has definitely had enough of this ref,” another person remarked.

Salah put him through, and Trent Alexander-Arnold had the goal at his mercy.

To the dismay of the Anfield supporters, the fullback did, however, manage to strike the crossbar.

Given that his charges will be leading the Premier League table come Christmas, Mikel Arteta will undoubtedly have been pleased to leave Merseyside with a point.

On Boxing Day, however, Burnley will visit Turf Moor to play Liverpool.
