Football player Marcus Rashford of Manchester United and the England national team devised the ‘In-the-Box’ to raise money for Barnabus, Centrepoint and Lifeshare, three homeless charities in Manchester.
The general population is urged to stuff a shoebox with necessities so that it can be given to adults who are more in need during the holidays. The box drop, which will support the campaign in collaboration with Selfridges Manchester Exchange (1, Exchange Square Central, Corporation St, Manchester, M3 1BD), will be manned from 12:00-18:00 Monday through Sunday and will be situated on the first floor within the menswear department.
“With the assistance of my family, I wrapped and distributed several gift boxes for individuals in need throughout Manchester during the holidays last year. Since it was one of the most satisfying experiences of the year, I was determined that this time around’s activities would reach a larger audience more successfully. To assist me accomplish this, I’m thrilled to have Selfridges Manchester Exchange as a partner on the initiative for Christmas 2023.
This is my chance to give back to those who would not otherwise have the finest Christmas since I love my hometown and am incredibly proud of all the support it has given me over the years.
I’m hoping a large number of individuals will also wish to participate so that we may have a significant influence collectively.
“We’re thrilled that Marcus Rashford has chosen to support an attacking trident of @LifeshareUK, @centrepointuk & @BarnabusMcr with his exciting “In-the-box” campaign,” stated Lifeshare Trustee Robin Toal. This Christmas, his assistance will truly help those who are homeless or in poverty.
