Onana then ran the entire length of the pitch to embrace with Hojlund following his winner at Old Trafford

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.3bn deal to purchase a 25% stake in the club was finally announced on Sunday, at the 71-year-old billionaire’s right-hand man and INEOS sporting director Sir David Brailsford watched on from the stands.

Despite hopes the investment would inspire confidence on the pitch, United fell behind early against Unai Emery’s high-flying Villa, with John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker giving the visitors a two-goal lead heading into the interval.

After the interval, United came back strong and appeared to have pulled even with Villa when Alejandro Garnacho scored, but a VAR review declared the goal offside.

Garnacho was once again in the center of the action, scoring twice in the final 12 minutes to put Ten Hag’s team back on even footing going into the final minutes.

With fewer than ten minutes of normal time left, Rasmus Hojlund handed United the lead and drove the 74,000-strong fans into a frenzy with his first Premier League goal.

One player who obviously enjoyed the festivities was Onana, who can be seen in a film from Amazon Prime Video Sport’s TikTok running from his goal line to celebrate with supporters after Garnacho’s equalizer.

Following that, Onana and his teammates collectively ran the whole length of the field around the £72 million summer acquisition to celebrate what turned out to be the game-winning goal.
